My training is oriented to ecology and animal behavior. The aim of my study are the adaptations that emerge from the coevolutionary processes between brood parasitic cowbirds and their hosts. The questions in which I'm working on are: 1) how the characteristics of the host and parasitic eggs are related to their resistance, 2) what are the causes of the variability in the egg puncture behavior of cowbirds, 3) why small hosts seems to lack defences against the shiny cowbird parasitism.
Another topic in which I am also working, in collaboration with colleagues of the University of La Plata, is the study of the invasion of the European Starling (Sturnus vulgaris) in Argentina. The main aim of the work is the study of the competition among starlings and native species and the variability of parasites of starlings.
